UV-Opti-Clad: Fiber 0ptic Cladding Polymers
UV-Opti-›Clad®:
UV-Opti-›Clad® is a UV curable fiber optic cladding polymer that may be formulated to enhance adhesion to glass and quartz. The UV curable system may also be formulated by cross-linking for improved thermal stability (non-fusible). Typical applications include fiber optic cladding and light pipe coatings.
 
S-Opti-Clad: Thermoplastic Polymer Solutions
S-Opti-›Clad®:
Our S-Opti-›Clad® deposits as a thermoplastic polymer solution in ethyl acetate which is not cross-linked (fusible). Our process for the manufacture of controlled index cladding materials has drawn considerable interest from around the world.
 
Index Specific Polymers
Index-Specific Polymers:
Customers can request samples of cladding polymers with properties other than standard properties. Our refractive index measurements are conducted at 589nm with a sample temperature of 25°C. Formulations can be supplied in a wide variety of solution viscosities. Polymer physical properties may range from durometer A-elastomer to D-rigid. Cladding compositions may be formulated for adhesion to a variety of substrates while maintaining the desired refractive index with an accuracy of 0.001 +/- 0.0005 units.
Artificial Bones and Joints
Acrylotem™ (M):
A bio-compatible ultra-high molecular weight PMMA medical grade thermoplastic whose applications include artificial joints, artificial bones, dentures, orthopedic prostheses, and its used for tissue engineering.
 
3D Optical Data Storage
Acrylotem™ (E):
A curable ultra-high molecular weight PMMA electronic grade UV-curable resin that is used as a negative resist in photolithography, T-gate processes, and 3D optical data storage.
 
Gas Sensing Devices
Acrylotem™ (C):
A specially formulated composite resin whose applications include aeronautical windshields, gas sensing, wound healing, aquariums, laminates, and architectural sheets.
 
IR Blocking Coatings on Lenses
Acrylotem™ (N):
A nano-hybrid based acrylic resin that uses multi-wall carbon nanotubes (CNT), nano-particles, or core shell particles that are evenly distributed in a thermoplastic or elastomeric curable resin. It is used in anti-fouling, IR blocking coatings, and adhesive applications.
